TCS Education System Institutional Research Analyst in Chicago, Illinois

Job Description:

TCS Education System is currently seeking an Institutional Research Analyst to join the Office of Institutional Research department.

Working in conjunction with other members of the institutional research team, as a key member of the Office of Institutional Research at TCS Education System, the Institutional Research Analyst will assist on complex data and survey projects. Responsibilities will include fulfilling institutional data needs and assisting in the administration of various survey instruments as well as quantitative and qualitative data analysis.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the administration, analysis, and reporting of official, course evaluation, student, and employee surveys

  • Collaborating with the members of the institutional research team to provide meaningful data and insights related to and resulting from survey administration and other data sources

  • Working with the institutional research team to meet annual institutional reporting and accreditation requirements (i.e., WASC, IBHE, and IPEDS)

  • Fulfilling institutional data needs by interpreting customer request specifications and creating data sets, reports, and dashboards

  • Performing data testing and validation prior to the release of deliverables to end users

  • Designing and developing dashboards using Cognos, Access, VBA and Excel to meet business partner requirements

  • Interacting with personnel from all levels of TCS Education System, its affiliates, and external partners

  • Responding to ad hoc data and insight requests from customers as needed

  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proven ability to interact successfully with organizational leadership

  • Experience with data analysis tools (Excel, SPSS, Stata, R, etc.)

  • Experience with survey platforms (Survey Monkey, Qualtrics, etc.)

  • Knowledge of higher education accreditation requirements and processes strongly preferred

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and provide deliverables under tight deadlines

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; master’s degree preferred; relevant fields of study include computer science, educational research and measurement, statistics, or related field

  • 1 – 3 years of experience in data management, assessment, and research

  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative research, data reporting, and statistical analysis

  • Higher education experience strongly preferred

  • Strong experience with MS Excel, SPSS, and other data analysis tools and software

  • Strong experience with CampusVue, PeopleSoft, or similar student management systems

  • Strong experience in extracting data from data marts, data cubes, data warehouses

  • Experience using Qualtrics, Survey Monkey, or other similar survey tools
