Registered Nurse 2 – Rush Day School
Are you an experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about bringing your Psych expertise to Rush Therapeutic Day School? If so, then this may be the position for you.
Rush Day School is a therapeutic day school for children with emotional disturbances in 1st through 8th grades. Long-term milieu treatment utilized by multidisciplinary team to address social, emotional and behavioral needs of children in a supportive, structured school environment.
The opportunity to be part of an innovative, creative multidisciplinary team which consistsofchild psychiatric nurses, special education teachers, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, and mental health workers
Monday through Friday position; Day shift.
As a classroom nurse you will maintain a caseload of 8-9 students.
Develop treatment and behavior plans.
Actively participate in educational activities and teaching (including health classes).
Monitor medications, practice and model social skills with the children.
Practices and models social skills with the children.
Serves as a mentor to novice nurses and has a depth of understanding of psychiatric nursing and mental illness.
Position Qualifications Include:
Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse Licensure
Bachelors of Science in Nursing (or higher) required
CPR/BLS Certification ( American Heart Association or American Red Cross only )
1-2 years Psych or Child Psych experience required.
